About the Author
I am an engineering geologist with a side interest in economic geology
and structural geology. My main specialty in engineering geology is rock
slope stability. Prior to becoming an engineering geologist, I worked in
the mineral exploration industry in my home country of Ethiopia. I was
looking for gold in Arabian Nubian Shield of northern Ethiopia. I am now
assistant professor of geology at
James Madison University, Virginia, USA.

for rock slope stability. It can easily be used both by engineers and
geologists. I hope you will find it useful for designing road cuts and
open pit walls.
